at the Future Convergence Science Building on September 20
The College of Natural Sciences at Kyungpook National University (Dean Cho Changwoo) will host the "2025 Basic Science Festival" on September 20 at the Future Convergence Science Building of Kyungpook National University for students and local residents in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions who are interested in basic sciences.
This Basic Science Festival, supported by Kyungpook National University and the National University Promotion Project, has been organized to highlight the importance of basic sciences, which provide the foundation for all applied disciplines.
Undergraduate students from nine departments and majors-including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, statistics, biotechnology, astronomy and atmospheric sciences, and marine sciences-will directly participate and operate hands-on booths.
The hands-on booths will feature a variety of programs, such as VR experiences, blood type experiments, earthquake model simulations, experiments on the decomposition of the three major nutrients, and solar observation with telescopes.
In addition, a stamp tour will be held at each booth.
Cho Changwoo, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at Kyungpook National University, stated, "Kyungpook National University is expanding new possibilities in basic sciences through world-class education and research. This festival is an opportunity for students and local residents to enjoy and experience basic sciences together," adding, "I hope this event will serve as a platform to share the value of basic sciences and inspire future talent to pursue their dreams."
