Hyundai Motor Group announced on September 18 that it will hire a total of 7,200 new employees this year to help revitalize the national economy and create jobs for young people. The group is also considering expanding its youth recruitment target to 10,000 next year.
The recruitment of young talent will focus on future growth sectors such as accelerating the transition to electrification and software-defined vehicles (SDV). The group will also increase personnel for the development of competitive new models, enhancement of quality and safety management, diversification of global business, and strengthening of brand value.
Hyundai Motor Group will further expand opportunities for young people to grow, including youth internship programs and industry-academia cooperation. The group plans to significantly increase the current youth internship program from about 400 participants to around 800 next year, and will actively hire outstanding talent from among them.
Industry-academia cooperation linked to the group's business will also continue. Since 2016, Hyundai Motor Group has been running customized industry-academia programs in partnership with universities. Currently, about 200 young talents from seven universities in Korea are participating in these programs, which include the selection of research scholarship students with a hiring guarantee and the establishment of contract-based departments within universities.
In addition, the group will continue to operate recruitment-linked training programs to discover and nurture mobility software talent early, in order to accelerate the transition to SDV. These programs are designed to allow participants to directly experience the development work processes carried out in the field. Since 2023, approximately 550 young talents have completed this training.
A Hyundai Motor Group official stated, "Through large-scale job creation in Korea, we plan to continuously provide opportunities for young people to realize their dreams, while strengthening our future business competitiveness with Korea as the center."
