Promoting Gumi as a City of Culture and Gastronomy
with Ramen Festival Exhibit and Melon Cocktail Show
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will host the "2025 Gumi Local Food Festa" at Seoul Plaza from Wednesday, October 1 to Thursday, October 2, offering a special festival where visitors can experience the authentic flavors of Gumi.
This event will feature a wide range of locally produced foods, including seasonal agricultural products such as Gumi Korean beef, Gumi rice, Gumi wheat flour, melons, grapes, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms, as well as processed foods that have received international acclaim, such as frozen gimbap, tteokbokki, melon rice cakes, macarons, and bread made from domestic wheat. All of these products are produced directly by local farmers and businesses and will be available for purchase in one place.
The festival grounds will include a Gumi Korean Beef Zone, an agricultural and livestock product sales hall, and a G-Food (Gumi Food) booth, allowing visitors to see a variety of fresh agricultural and livestock products and processed foods at a glance.
At the Gumi City promotional booth, visitors can learn about the city's history and culture through tourism exhibits, as well as explore the 2025 Gumi Ramen Festival exhibition hall. A diverse array of stage programs, including a cocktail show using Gumi’s specialty melons, will also be presented to offer a unique and enjoyable experience for attendees.
Through this festival, Gumi City aims to deliver the message "Made in Gumi, Delicious Gumi Local Food" to citizens in the Seoul metropolitan area, promote Gumi’s image as a gourmet city, and share the warmth of home with former residents who have moved away.
In particular, Gumi Korean beef, fresh agricultural products, and processed foods introduced for the Chuseok holiday season are expected to be ideal gifts, further enhancing consumer satisfaction.
Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "This will be a special opportunity to experience the true taste of Gumi in the heart of Seoul. I hope this festival will showcase the excellence of Gumi local food and lead to increased income for local farmers and revitalization of the regional economy."
