At the special session "K-Medical AI Innovation Summit," hosted by Incheon St. Mary's Hospital, Kim Kyungnam, CEO of Weisen, gave a presentation titled "AI Endoscopy: A New Paradigm for Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention."
Weisen introduced the clinical value of its AI endoscope, WAYMED ENDO, in early screening by highlighting the role of AI in reducing the incidence rates of gastric and colorectal cancers and increasing lesion detection rates by assisting medical professionals. The company also shared its global expansion status, presenting a new paradigm for gastrointestinal cancer prevention to healthcare officials from 21 APEC member countries.
In particular, Weisen was recognized for presenting new possibilities and a vision for preventing gastrointestinal cancers, which account for a significant proportion of global healthcare challenges. The company emphasized that WAYMED ENDO is already being used to address key issues in international healthcare, having entered markets in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Thailand, as well as the Middle East.
CEO Kim stated, "It is meaningful to be able to share Weisen's AI endoscopy technology on global stages such as the APEC HLMHE and the World Bio Summit," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to reduce the social burden of gastrointestinal cancer and contribute to innovation in the global healthcare market through AI endoscopy technology utilizing real-time capabilities."
The forum began with a welcoming address from Park Jumin, Chair of the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee, and an opening speech by Father Ko Donghyun, Director of Incheon St. Mary's Hospital. The event featured participants such as Dr. Yoo Hanju from Naver Healthcare, Professor Kim Hyeyoon from Incheon St. Mary's Hospital, and Vice President Kim Dongho from Megazone, who discussed a variety of topics related to medical AI.
