Ensuring Stable Supply of Essential Holiday Goods
and Monitoring for Unfair Trade Practices

Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 17 that it held a policy meeting in the cultural lecture room on the third floor of City Hall to discuss measures for price stabilization ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The meeting was attended by 20 working-level committee members responsible for price stabilization, including representatives from the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, distribution companies, consumer organizations, the Jinju Office of Education, and the Jinju Tax Office, as well as those involved in the supply of key holiday goods. Participants reported on price stabilization measures for the Chuseok holiday and discussed collaborative plans between institutions and organizations for managing the supply and stabilizing the prices of essential holiday items.

To stabilize prices during the Chuseok holiday, Jinju City has designated a special price stabilization period until October 10. During this period, the city is operating a comprehensive situation room for price policy, conducting guidance and inspections on the implementation of price labeling, and supporting businesses with "good price" certifications that contribute to price stabilization.

Additionally, to ease the financial burden on citizens and boost sales for small businesses, the city will implement the second round of livelihood recovery consumer coupon distributions, issue and increase the discount rate for Jinju Love Gift Certificates, hold a special 20-30% discount event on Jinju agricultural specialty products through the Jinju Dream and Jinju Market Store shopping platforms for Chuseok, run a campaign to encourage the use of traditional markets, and promote an "honest prepayment" campaign.

Furthermore, to establish fair trade practices and prevent consumer harm, the city will conduct a price stabilization and consumer protection campaign, carry out promotional activities on consumer grievance resolution methods, and enforce special crackdowns on country-of-origin labeling.

During the price stabilization period, Jinju City will have monitoring personnel survey the price trends and supply status of 21 essential holiday items, including apples, pears, beef, pork, and croaker. The collected price information will be released on the Gyeongsangnam-do provincial website.

A city official stated, "There are concerns about price increases due to abnormal weather conditions such as heat waves and heavy rain, as well as weakened consumer sentiment," adding, "We will do our utmost to manage price stabilization so that everyone can enjoy a warm and plentiful Chuseok holiday."
