Lee Nak-yon Sparks Controversy by Posting Photo with Moon Jae-in
"Lee Nak-yon Supported Kim Moon-soo... He Should Continue His Politics There"
Former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon met with former President Moon Jae-in, drawing criticism from Democratic Party spokesperson Kim Jiho, who accused him of "constantly stirring up discord."

On September 15, during an appearance on CBS Radio’s "Park Jae-hong’s One Shot," spokesperson Kim stated, "We are fed up with Lee Nak-yon," adding, "During the last general election, he ran in Gwangju, vowing to ignite a final spark, and in the last presidential election, he supported former People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo. He continued to trouble us by insisting on forming a coalition government until the very end."
On September 13, Lee shared a photo on his social media showing himself and his wife meeting with former President Moon Jae-in and his wife. In the photo, both couples are facing each other and smiling. Lee wrote, "Along with my wife, I visited President Moon Jae-in and his wife in Pyeongsan to offer Chuseok greetings. We talked about recent events, the past, and even shared stories about Makgeolli."
Regarding this, spokesperson Kim commented, "If he wanted to offer holiday greetings, he should have gone to Kim Moon-soo. Why come to our party’s president and cause this kind of discord?" She continued, "Former President Moon is a respected elder of the Democratic Party. If Lee Nak-yon once gave his support to Kim Moon-soo, he should have just continued his political activities there."
Democratic Party lawmaker Park Ji-won also criticized Lee’s posting of the meeting with Moon, calling it "an opportunistic act for his own political gain."
Appearing on the YouTube channel "Kim Eunji’s NewsIN" by SisaIN, Park stated, "(Former President Moon probably met with Lee because Lee had served as his prime minister.) If Lee Nak-yon truly cared about Moon Jae-in, would he have taken a cheerful photo and posted it on social media?" Park further criticized, "This is an opportunistic act that disregards all means and methods in an attempt to secure his own political standing."
