Collaboration Among Domestic and International Law Enforcement, Private Sector, and Academia
The National Police Agency announced on September 16 that it held the "3rd International Conference on Fraud Prevention."
Approximately 200 participants attended this academic conference, including Assemblymen Lee Sangshik and Seo Beomsoo, officials from the Speaker's Office of the National Assembly, representatives of major domestic and international law enforcement agencies, ambassadors from various countries, as well as stakeholders from the finance, telecommunications, fintech, and online transaction sectors.
President Lee Jaemyung delivered a written congratulatory message on this day, stating, "Fraud is a serious crime that destroys the lives of our citizens." He emphasized, "The government will respond firmly with a zero-tolerance policy, establish a comprehensive prevention and alert system across all government agencies, and pursue legislative measures to strengthen the institutional foundation."
Acting Commissioner General Yoo Jaeseong said, "In order to protect the valuable assets and peaceful daily lives of our citizens from transnational fraud organizations, the entire world must come together to form a strong, united response community." He added, "I believe this academic conference will serve as an opportunity to open a new collaborative model involving the public, private, and academic sectors."
