"Avoided Contact After Breakup" ... Man in His 50s Arrested for Murdering Caddie at Geoje Golf Course

"Avoided Contact After Breakup" ... Man in His 50s Arrested for Murdering Caddie at Geoje Golf Course 119 paramedics are providing first aid to injured rescuees with stab wounds. Provided by Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters.

A man in his 50s has been arrested for murdering a woman with whom he was in a common-law relationship at a golf course in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province.

The South Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency announced on the 15th that it had arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, on suspicion of murder.

According to the police, on September 5 at around 10:35 a.m., A is accused of stabbing and killing a woman in her 50s, identified as B, who was working as a caddie at a golf course in Geoje.

B, who suffered severe injuries to her neck and chest from the stabbing, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but died while receiving treatment.

A, who attempted to harm himself immediately after the crime, sustained serious abdominal injuries and was hospitalized, but was discharged on September 12.

It was revealed that A entered the golf course by walking along a trail used by residents of a nearby apartment complex at around 7:40 a.m. that day, and waited for more than three hours for an opportunity to commit the crime.

The police believe that A disguised himself as a golf course worker in charge of lawn maintenance on the day of the incident, which allowed him to approach B without arousing suspicion.

The two had been in a common-law relationship for several years but had been living separately since July following an assault incident.

The police provided B, the assault victim, with a smart watch and increased patrols around her residence.

It was found that B had the smart watch on the day of the incident, but had left it in her locker due to her work circumstances.

During police questioning, A stated that after their separation, B avoided his attempts to contact and meet her, and that financial disputes led him to commit the crime out of anger.

The police plan to further investigate A regarding the specific circumstances of the crime before referring him to the prosecution.
