Jaysco Holdings has finalized a major barge contract, bringing the company to the brink of exporting nickel ore.
On September 15, Jaysco Holdings announced that it had signed an initial contract for two large-scale barges, each with a capacity of 4,700 tons, with a local company in the Philippines.
The large barges are expected to operate three to four times a day, transporting an average of 30,000 tons of nickel ore daily. The barges will move from the anchorage to Jaysco Holdings' Port 1 and Port 2, where preparations for shipment will be carried out. The company plans to gradually secure additional barges in the future to expand its nickel ore transportation capacity.
With the completion of the barge contracts, the company explained that the first shipment of Philippine nickel ore is now virtually imminent. Jaysco Holdings has completed all preparations for shipment, including logistics infrastructure such as Port 1 and Port 2, legal and administrative procedures, and the barges themselves.
Jaysco Holdings expects that once the first export is made to Baoli Energy, a Chinese state-owned enterprise with which it has signed a supply contract for at least 8 million tons of nickel ore, it will also be able to finalize a main contract with Hong Kong-based Pacific Infinity Resources Limited (PIRL), with whom discussions are currently underway.
A company representative stated, "By securing large barges, we have established a foundation to independently manage the entire process from mining to transportation and shipment," adding, "Based on our stable supply capabilities, we aim to become a key player in the global nickel supply chain."
The representative continued, "With global supply chain instability intensifying due to factors such as anti-government protests in Indonesia, Philippine mines are emerging as alternative suppliers, further increasing their value," and added, "We plan to focus on expanding our supply network to China, Hong Kong, and both domestic and international markets in response to market conditions."
