[Today’s New Product] "Limited Edition Golden Spam"... CJ CheilJedang Unveils 186 Chuseok Gift Sets

A Variety of Spam and Dessert Gift Sets Also Released

On September 15, CJ CheilJedang announced that it would launch 186 different Chuseok gift sets to celebrate the holiday.


First, the company prepared products for consumers who want to give a special "Spam Gift Set." The Spam Gift Sets feature cute designs created in collaboration with Naver Happybean and the lifestyle brand Bellygom. The Naver Happybean Spam Gift Set is particularly meaningful, as a portion of its sales proceeds will be donated to children in need of care through Naver Happybean. Limited edition gift sets have also been released, including the "Spam Gold Bar Edition," which features golden Spam in a gold bar package, and the "Spam Supermoon Edition," available exclusively through CJ The Market.

The "Jeil Myungin" brand, a collaborative gift set line that has showcased products from Korea’s master food artisans since Chuseok 2023, has expanded its lineup through new collaborations. CJ CheilJedang partnered with the premium sauce brand Muryangsu, made famous by Chef An Sungjae, to launch the "Muryangsu Traditional Sauce Set," which includes gochujang, soy sauce, and doenjang. Additionally, a collaborative gift set featuring "Jeil Myungin Yecheon Sesame Oil" and a sauce bowl from the ceramic brand Odense has been introduced.


The company is also entering the new dessert gift set market with products such as "Jeil Myungin Gaeseong Yakgwa," which incorporates the expertise of a traditional confectionery master, and "Jeil Myungin Low-Sugar Yanggeng," catering to the low-sugar trend. These new products feature emotionally resonant packaging inspired by traditional Korean patterns, making them ideal as souvenirs or everyday gifts for foreign visitors interested in K-desserts.


CJ CheilJedang has also launched a new premium gift set brand, "Le Gouter," to strengthen its high-end lineup. "Gouter" means "gourmet" in French, reflecting the brand's aim to deliver global gourmet experiences through its gift sets. The packaging, reminiscent of European department stores, enhances the luxurious feel, while products from premium olive oil brands such as Italy’s Galantino and Spain’s Nobleza del Sur offer a taste of culinary delight.


The company has also prepared health-focused gift sets. The long-standing holiday bestseller "Hanppuri" has been renewed, featuring a new logo and packaging design that reflects the "Hip Tradition" trend of modernizing tradition. New products include the "Black Ginseng Yunokgo Stick," which blends black ginseng with three additional ingredients, and the "Black Ginsengdan Agarwood Pill," a pill-type product combining agarwood and deer antler that can be consumed smoothly without bitterness.


Shim Hyungjin, head of gift set marketing at CJ CheilJedang, said, "We have greatly expanded consumer options to keep up with the increasingly diverse trends in gift set consumption. We hope people will use these gift sets to convey their heartfelt sentiments during the holiday season."
