Hanwha Robotics and Wia Machine Tools to Jointly Develop Collaborative Robot Automation Solutions

Collaboration Results to Be Unveiled at EMO 2025
Targeting Global Markets

Hanwha Robotics has agreed to jointly develop and promote collaborative robot-based automation solutions with Wia Machine Tools. By integrating collaborative robots with machine tools, the companies aim to enhance automation competitiveness in manufacturing and expand into overseas markets.

On September 15, Hanwha Robotics and Wia Machine Tools announced that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation in the field of automation solutions at the Hanwha Future Technology Research Institute in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The agreement, signed four days ago, includes the supply of machine tool automation solutions, installation, maintenance and training support, and joint participation in global exhibitions.

The two companies plan to introduce a collaborative robot and machine tool integrated "turn-key" automation solution, and will also establish a shared global distribution network and joint support system. Hanwha Robotics will provide robot AI vision and visual safety technology, while Wia Machine Tools will contribute its automation design capabilities.

The first outcome of their collaboration will be unveiled at "EMO 2025," the world's largest machine tool exhibition, which will be held in Hanover, Germany, starting September 22. The two companies plan to showcase two types of automation solutions that combine collaborative robots and machine tools.

A Hanwha Robotics representative stated, "As both companies share a consensus on the synergy that can be created by combining collaborative robots and machine tools, we expect practical cooperation will be possible," adding, "We will accelerate manufacturing automation with collaborative robot solutions based on innovative technology."
