This competition, now in its 10th year, was hosted by the Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office and organized by the Daegu branch of the Korea Citizens Volunteer Association. It has established itself as a leading local veterans culture event, providing a stage for young people to develop a correct understanding of history and foster patriotism.

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, 13 teams from middle and high schools in the Daegu area participated in the competition, presenting works under the theme of "Independence, National Defense, and Democracy." The students created their own scripts and brought historical moments to life on stage. After fierce competition, Seonggwang Middle School won the grand prize with their performance titled "I Am a Student Soldier."

Kim Jongsul, head of the Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office, said, "It is very meaningful that, on the 80th anniversary of Liberation, young people were able to remember the sacrifices and contributions of our forebears through these performances. We will continue to offer various events that make veterans affairs more accessible through culture, helping to enhance young people's understanding of history and sense of pride."
