Gangnam District to Host "2025 Gangnam Festival" for Its 50th Anniversary

September 25 to October 3 at COEX, Yeongdong-daero, and more
From K-POP to Fashion, Cuisine, and Marathon

Gangnam District in Seoul (District Mayor Cho Sungmyung) announced on September 15 that, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, it will host the "2025 Gangnam Festival HEY! Gangnam" from September 25 to October 3 across the entire district, including COEX, Yeongdong-daero, and Maru Park.

Now in its 14th year, this festival is a celebration of K-culture, blending music, fashion, cuisine, and sports. It is expected to become a global urban festival that communicates not only with Korea but also with the world.


The festival consists of 10 programs: the Vision Declaration Ceremony & Opening Event, Yeongdong-daero K-POP Concert, HEY Gangnam Family Concert, Gangnam Fashion Festa, Gourmet Journey & K-Culture Zone, Fringe Performances, Maru Park Music Picnic, KBS Open Concert, Gangnam International Peace Marathon, and the HEY Bongeun Temple Music Concert.


On September 26 at 7 p.m., the Vision Declaration Ceremony and Opening Event will be held at the east plaza of COEX, featuring a 50-member resident delegation, a community choir, and a samulnori team. At this event, District Mayor Cho Sungmyung will announce the future vision for Gangnam in 2070, and more than 250 performers, including musical actors Kim Sohyun and Tei, will present a large-scale performance.


On September 27, the "Yeongdong-daero K-POP Concert" will feature six teams, including god, BTOB, and SF9. On September 28, the "HEY! Gangnam Family Concert" will bring together 1990s stars such as Lee Jaehoon (Cool), Lim Changjung, and Kim Changryeol (DJ DOC). During the same period, the "Gangnam Fashion Festa" will showcase a hybrid show in collaboration with domestic fashion brands and artists, while the "Gourmet Journey & K-Culture Zone" will offer exhibitions and performances featuring K-food and global cuisine.


A variety of events will also take place throughout Gangnam. Street performances such as busking and tightrope walking will be held at Gangnam Station, Garosu-gil, and Apgujeong Rodeo. On September 27, Maru Park in Gaepo-dong will host performances across various genres, including soprano Lim Sunhae and C'est Si Bon's Cho Youngnam and Yoon Hyungjoo.


On October 2, the "KBS Open Concert" will be held at Jamwon Hangang Park, and on October 3, the "Gangnam International Peace Marathon" will take place with over 10,000 participants. On the same day, the "HEY Bongeun Temple Music Concert," featuring SeoDo Band, Song Changshik, and Kim Changwan Band, will serve as the grand finale of the festival at Bongeunsa Temple.


Cho Sungmyung, Mayor of Gangnam District, stated, "The Gangnam Festival is Korea's leading global urban festival that shares the appeal of K-culture with the world. In celebration of our 50th anniversary, we have prepared a festival where everyone can enjoy and connect. I hope this event will further elevate Gangnam's status as the center of the Korean Wave."
