Se Young Kim Ties for Fifth... Hull Celebrates Third Career Win After Three Years

3-Under in Kroger Queen City Championship Final Round
Satisfied with Three Consecutive Top-10 Finishes Without a Win
Thitikul Four-Putts on Final Hole, Settles for Runner-Up

Se Young Kim has finished in the top 10 for three consecutive tournaments.

On September 14 (local time), at TPC Rivers Bend (par 72, 6,876 yards) in Hamilton Township, Ohio, USA, during the final 4th round of the LPGA Tour Kroger Queen City Championship (total prize money: 2 million dollars), she carded five birdies and two bogeys to finish with a 3-under-par 69. With a final total of 15-under-par 273, she tied for fifth place.

Se Young Kim previously finished tied for 10th at last month's CPKC Women's Open and third at the FM Championship, marking her third consecutive top-10 finish on the LPGA Tour. Notably, out of the nine tournaments she has played since June, she has placed in the top 10 six times, and in her most recent five tournaments, she has achieved four top-10 finishes.

Se Young Kim was tied for ninth place, four shots behind the leader after the third round, but ultimately could not pull off a comeback. Her last win on the LPGA Tour, where she has a total of 12 victories, was at the Pelican Championship in November 2020. In a post-round interview, she said, "I had good opportunities on the last three holes but couldn't capitalize on them, so I'm a bit disappointed. Overall, though, I played well. I'm looking forward to next week."

Charlie Hull (England) shot four under par to win by one stroke with a total of 20-under-par 268. This marks her third career LPGA Tour victory, following the 2016 CME Group Tour Championship and the Volunteers of America Classic in October 2022, and her first in three years. The winner's prize is 300,000 dollars (approximately 420 million won). She has recently faced adversity, having fainted twice during play at the Evian Masters in July and withdrawing, and suffering an ankle injury after falling in a parking lot last month.

World No. 1 Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) reached the final 18th hole (par 5) with a one-stroke lead but made a bogey with four putts, finishing as runner-up at 19-under-par 269. Lottie Woad (England) finished third (18-under-par 270), Miyu Yamashita (Japan) was fourth (17-under-par 271), and Nelly Korda (USA) and Nasa Hataoka (Japan) tied for fifth place. Hyejin Choi finished tied for 14th at 13-under-par 275, along with last year's champion Lydia Ko (New Zealand) and 2023 champion Minjee Lee (Australia).
