Second Introduction After Sokcho City in Gangwon Province
Customized Health Management Support for Families with Infants and Young Children

Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on September 12 that it will fully implement the "Early Life Health Management Project" starting in September, following its selection for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's public contest. This marks the second introduction of the project in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, after Sokcho City.

The Early Life Health Management Project is a national initiative that provides support to pregnant women and families with infants under 24 months old. Specialized nurses for infants and young children visit homes to check on infant development, manage parental health, offer parenting consultations, and connect families with health and welfare services.

The service is provided completely free of charge, aiming to reduce the burden on families with newborns and create a healthy environment for child-rearing.

The project operates by first conducting a basic home visit to assess initial health and parenting conditions. If necessary, additional visits are arranged to provide tailored consultations and intensive support.

Since being selected for the public contest in March, Taebaek City has completed training for dedicated staff and finished preparations for implementation. As of September, the city is offering the service to local families who wish to participate.

An official from Taebaek City stated, "This project offers practical support for both babies and parents," and requested, "We hope for active participation and interest from local families."

Citizens who wish to participate in the project or would like more information are encouraged to contact the Health Promotion Team at Taebaek City Public Health Center.
