Cho Kuk, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, on the 12th ordered the establishment of measures to address a sexual misconduct incident within the party and to prevent secondary victimization.
On this day, the Innovation Party announced in a statement, "(Chairman Cho) urged the party to respond firmly to any groundless criticism of the victims going forward, and made it clear that acts of secondary victimization hinder both the full recovery of the victims and the party's transformation into a healthy community."
Accordingly, the party decided to send related text messages to all members and to prepare a revision of the party constitution and regulations that would impose severe disciplinary action not only on the perpetrators of misconduct but also on those who engage in secondary victimization. In addition, the party called for an active response to malicious reports in the media and on platforms such as YouTube.
Chairman Cho emphasized the restoration of the community in relation to the recent controversy. The Innovation Party stated, "(Chairman Cho) expressed his determination to pursue 'healing for all,' focusing on the recovery of the victims and extending to the restoration of wounded party members and supporters," adding, "He announced that the party will implement a variety of measures for a communal resolution going forward."
In this regard, the party has decided to swiftly implement Chairman Cho's directives.
