Total Investment of 439.5 Billion KRW Proposed
304 Rooms in Accommodation Facilities and a 27-Hole Golf Course Planned
Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Son Byungbok) is taking concrete steps toward achieving its goal of attracting 10 million tourists.
On September 5, the county finalized the selection of the top proposal for the "Uljin County Ocean Resort and Golf Course Development Project" through a review of private sector proposals.
This call for proposals was held from July 8 to August 21, with a consortium that includes a domestic financial institution participating as the sole bidder.
The submitted proposal was evaluated by the review committee based on criteria including ①development plan, ②financial plan, ③hotel operation plan, and ④public contribution plan, and was ultimately selected as the "top proposal" for the private sector call.
The top proposer will receive an additional 3% on their total evaluation score if they participate in the upcoming public contest for private business operators.
Uljin County plans to proceed with the public contest for selecting private business operators within September.
The development sites cover approximately 180,000 square meters in Sanpo-ri 697-4, Geunnam-myeon, and about 1,340,000 square meters in Osan-ri San 200, Maehwa-myeon.

On these sites, at least 300 rooms of accommodation facilities, as required by the Tourism Promotion Act, and a golf course will be developed through private investment as essential facilities. In addition to these, other facilities may be freely planned and promoted.
Through this private investment attraction, Uljin County aims to establish a base for stay-type tourism destinations where visitors can spend extended periods, and to foster the area as a new regional landmark.
Governor Son Byungbok stated, "This project is a key initiative in preparing for the era of 10 million tourists in Uljin. The county will spare no administrative support to ensure that investing companies can carry out the project stably. We expect this development project to greatly contribute not only to expanding tourism infrastructure but also to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs, thereby driving regional development."
He also added, "We hope for much interest and active participation in the public contest for selecting private business operators to be held in September."
