Scheduled to Depart at Noon on the 11th (Local Time)
"I Wanted to Express My Anger at the Actions of the United States"
It has become a hot topic that a netizen, angered by the mass detention of Koreans at the Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution joint battery plant in Georgia, United States, canceled their Tesla vehicle purchase contract.
On September 10, a post titled "I canceled my Tesla contract" appeared on an automobile community. The author had ordered a Tesla Model Y Long Range in white, including white wheels, last May and had been waiting for delivery.
However, after the recent incident involving the detention of Koreans, the author reported that they canceled the order out of anger, even though the delivery date was approaching. The author stated, "It's not that I particularly like Hyundai, but I just decided to buy a GV70 instead," and added, "In the section for stating the reason for cancellation, I wrote that I was canceling out of anger after seeing the mass detention of Koreans in Georgia."
The author continued, "I was just so angry at the actions of the United States that I wanted to express myself in some way. It's not as if I went out and harassed anyone, and I think I have the right to spend my own money as I wish."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that a chartered plane carrying over 300 Koreans who were detained by U.S. immigration authorities in Georgia is scheduled to depart for Korea at noon on September 11 (local time). As U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to accommodate the Korean government's request, it is expected that the detainees will leave the detention facility without handcuffs and be transported to the airport.
