Silla University Department of Police Administration Launches Hwarang Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit

Cooperating with Sasang Police Station
Patrolling Crime-Prone Areas and Strengthening the Safety Network

The Department of Police Administration at Silla University (President: Hur Namsik) has officially launched the Hwarang Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit in partnership with the Sasang Police Station to carry out collaborative public safety activities.


On September 4, Silla University held an inauguration ceremony for the Hwarang Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit, which is composed of students from the Department of Police Administration, at the Nuri Hall of the Sasang Police Station.

The event was attended by Professor Kim Yanghyun of Silla University, Chief Lim Youngseop of the Sasang Police Station, as well as students and other officials. The ceremony included a progress report, the presentation of appointment letters, inaugural addresses by the police chief and professor, and the reading of a resolution.


With the inauguration, the Hwarang Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit will begin practical public safety activities, including patrolling crime-prone areas within Sasang District, analyzing risk factors, and seeking response measures.


Ha Minkyoung, the leader of the Hwarang Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit, stated, "As we begin our first activities, the encouragement from the police chief and department head has helped our members strengthen their sense of responsibility and community. We will continue to work closely with police officers to make Sasang District even safer."


Cho Minsang, head of the Department of Police Administration, said, "Activities with the Hwarang Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit offer students a valuable opportunity to develop a sense of community, responsibility, and the capabilities required of future police officers. We will continue to actively cooperate with the Sasang Police Station to help maintain public safety in the region."
