Gijang County in Busan Holds Successful "Urban Agriculture Sharing Festival" at Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park

Over 70 Community Garden Recipients and Program Participants Join
Positive Response to Seedling Sharing and Special Lecture

Gijang County (Mayor Jung Jongbok) held the "Urban Agriculture Sharing Festival" on September 6 at Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park, the first urban agriculture park in Busan.

More than 70 people, including community garden plot recipients, education program participants, and urban agriculture officials, attended the event, demonstrating strong interest and enthusiasm for urban agriculture.

The event featured a special lecture on the basics of urban agriculture and seedling management, as well as a seedling sharing program. Professor Oh Juseong from the Department of Biomaterials Engineering at Dong-A University gave a lecture on seedling management and the value of urban agriculture, which was met with an enthusiastic response.

During the seedling sharing program, participants received cabbage seedlings, green onion bulbs, and eco-friendly agricultural agents, providing practical support for those starting their own farming activities.

Mayor Jung Jongbok said, "I hope this event will increase residents' interest in urban agriculture and encourage them to put it into practice," adding, "We will expand education and sharing programs to develop Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park into a hub of urban agriculture."
