Icheon Agricultural Theme Park to Establish "Semiconductors, the Rice of Industry" Exhibition Hall

Icheon City, SK Hynix, and Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest Sign Agreement

A semiconductor-themed exhibition hall will be established at the Icheon Agricultural Theme Park in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

On September 10, the Icheon City Government, SK Hynix, and the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest signed a regional community cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Icheon City Hall to create an exhibition hall themed "Semiconductors, the Rice of Industry." The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, Jung Sangrok, Vice President of SK Hynix, and Kim Hyojin, Secretary General of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.

The participating organizations agreed to set up a themed exhibition hall at the Icheon Agricultural Theme Park, where the Icheon Rice Culture Festival will be held for five days starting October 22. The exhibition will highlight the intersection between the advanced semiconductor industry and traditional agricultural culture.

Under the agreement, the city will provide the exhibition space and administrative support, while SK Hynix will donate the necessary funds for the exhibition hall through the Social Welfare Community Chest. The Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest will manage and allocate the donated funds and oversee the project execution and support.

Mayor Kim stated, "This agreement, which connects Icheon's renowned rice with the global semiconductor industry, has symbolic significance as it embodies both the region's future vision and social value. We will continue to provide full support so that Icheon's representative culture and industries can shine on the world stage."
