A Variety of Performances, Hands-On Activities, Exhibitions, and Events to Enjoy
Sunchang County in North Jeolla Province will hold the 'Autumn Reading Autumn?' cultural event on September 27 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the plaza and multipurpose hall of Sunchang County Library.
According to the county on September 10, this event has been organized to encourage reading as a daily habit in the local community and to spread a culture of reading. It will feature a variety of programs that the whole family can enjoy, including performances, hands-on activities, exhibitions, and events.
In particular, a creative musical titled 'The Cat Trapped in the Book,' which is expected to be especially popular among children, will be performed. There will also be hands-on activities such as making bookmarks, upcycled clipboards, phone straps, and multipurpose holders; an exhibition of the winning works from the 'Reflecting Myself in Books' Reading Culture Promotion Contest; and an exhibition of old book replicas titled 'The Library Records History,' among other diverse programs.
The library will also offer reading-friendly events that can be enjoyed on-site, such as a new member registration event, a lucky roulette spin, book and magazine sharing, double borrowing, and one-day classes.
Additionally, the 'Double Borrowing Service' and 'Overdue Borrower Suspension Release Service' will be available throughout September, while the remaining cultural events will be concentrated on September 27.
For more details, please visit the Sunchang County Library website or contact the library directly. Some programs, such as the children's musical and one-day classes, require advance registration.
A county official stated, "This will be a meaningful opportunity to experience the essence of autumn through books and to rediscover the library as a space for culture and communication. We hope for the active interest and participation of all county residents."
