Seo-gu District in Gwangju will hold the "Ildongmoyeorak (樂)" Youth Festival on September 13 along Sangmuowol-ro in Sangmu 1-dong.

According to Seo-gu District on September 10, "Ildongmoyeorak" means "Let’s gather in Sangmu 1-dong, full of joy." The festival is independently planned and participated in by youth, including those from the Seo-gu Youth Kkumnuri Center, and is designed as a community event where different generations can come together and interact.

This festival will feature four main themes: Play, Eat, Share, and Show Off. The area from Seo-gu Youth Kkumnuri Center to Gwangju Wonum Broadcasting will be transformed into a car-free street for the festivities.

Participants can enjoy a variety of activities: in the "Play" section, there will be experiences such as making grip tok phone holders, ATP hand washing, designing eco-bags, and crafting hope flower pinwheels; in the "Eat" section, healthy foods like Korean wheat pancakes and vegan hot dogs will be available; in the "Share" section, a flea market will be held where used or unused items can be sold; and in the "Show Off" section, performances will include a special show by Korea’s renowned dancer "Waacking Marid," as well as youth bands, dance, and taekwondo acts.

A special career talk show for youth, "Our Neighborhood Master Talk Show," will also take place. "Waacking Marid" will appear as the featured master, sharing career experiences in the cultural and arts sector and providing practical motivation to young people.

Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu District, stated, "This festival is a meaningful event where youth take the lead and generations come together," adding, "We will continue to actively support a community culture where youth and residents can grow together."

Meanwhile, on the same day, the 1st 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament will be held at the Pungam-dong National Sports Center. Sixteen teams, including 10 boys’ middle school teams and 6 girls’ middle school teams, will compete, and a variety of programs such as youth club performances and a three-point shoot event will also take place.
