Soonchunhyang University achieved a 32% year-on-year increase, with a total of 37 projects selected for the 2025 Academic Research Support Program in Science and Engineering (Next-Generation Scholars Support Program), organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.


This achievement was driven by systematic support, including research proposal seminars for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, customized consulting, and strengthened administrative support.


In particular, as graduate students and early-career researchers became more active in preparing their projects, the selection rate improved.


According to Soonchunhyang University on September 10, the selected projects include three Post-Doctoral Growth Research Support projects, three Domestic Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, eleven Doctoral Student Research Incentives, and twenty Master's Student Research Incentives, further strengthening the research foundation for the next generation of scholars.


Additionally, Soonchunhyang University was selected for the Basic Research Institute Support (G-LAMP), the Basic Science Research Capacity Enhancement Project (Core Research Support Center), and the Science and Engineering Research Life Incentive, thereby securing research stability.


The university also demonstrated its competitiveness in international evaluations. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, it ranked 10th in medicine in Korea and within the top 400 globally, 17th in life sciences in Korea, 20th in computer science in Korea, and 30th in engineering in Korea. In the QS Asia University Rankings, it entered the global top 200 for the first time, ranking first among private universities in the Chungcheong region.


Soonchunhyang University stated, "Based on these achievements, we will expand interdisciplinary research in basic science and advanced industries and strengthen our global competitiveness to become a specialized university in AI medical convergence."
