A fire broke out at a livestock farm in Muan County, South Jeolla Province, resulting in the death of 580 pigs and the complete destruction of one barn.
The fire started at around 2:22 a.m. on September 10 in Mongtan-myeon, Muan County. Firefighters were dispatched and extinguished the blaze after more than five hours. There were no human casualties.
The fire was discovered and reported by a passing driver. The police and fire authorities plan to conduct a joint inspection on the morning of September 10 to investigate the exact cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
