Hyundai Unveils Hatchback 'Concept Three' for the First Time Worldwide
Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Others Introduce New Electrified Models on Home Turf
On September 9 (local time), global automakers participating in Europe's largest motor show, 'IAA Mobility 2025,' opened a joint exhibition space called Open Space in downtown Munich, Germany, and unveiled a variety of new and concept cars.
Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and Chinese automakers introduced new electric vehicles as they set their sights on the European market.

Hyundai Motor Company set up a 580-square-meter booth on Ludwig Street within Open Space. The company attracted significant attention from visitors with a large, 7-meter-high booth constructed from glass structures inspired by the parametric pixel, a core design element of the Ioniq lineup.
In particular, Hyundai Motor Company exhibited a total of seven electric vehicle models, including the world premiere of the 'Concept Three' and the Insteroid concept car, as well as the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 N, Ioniq 9, Kona Electric, and Casper Electric Cross.
During the exhibition period, Hyundai Motor Company will also operate on-site test drive programs, giving visitors the opportunity to experience various electric vehicle models firsthand, including the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 5 N, Ioniq 6, Ioniq 9, Casper Electric, and Casper Electric Cross.

The Ioniq brand's first small EV concept car, 'Concept Three,' features an 'Aero Hatch' design that emphasizes aerodynamic performance, providing a spacious interior despite its compact size. At the rear, a lemon-colored 'ducktail' spoiler is installed to optimize airflow and add a sporty feel.
The unveiling of Concept Three drew a crowd of around 200 local media representatives and visitors, demonstrating high interest.
A Hyundai Motor Company representative stated, "Concept Three is a model that represents Hyundai Motor Company's next-generation electrification journey," and added, "With its compact body size and the Art of Steel design language, it embodies our vision to provide practical yet emotionally resonant mobility."

Returning to the IAA for the first time in four years since 2021, Kia showcased seven models, including 'The Kia Concept EV2,' EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9, and the PV5 Passenger.
The Concept EV2 is a concept model of Kia's small SUV optimized for urban driving, with the mass production model set to launch in Europe next year. The EV5, unveiled in Europe for the first time, attracted local attention with its application of Kia's design philosophy, Opposites United, which creatively fuses contrasting concepts.
The PV5 Passenger, developed on the dedicated electrification platform 'E-GMP.S' for purpose-built vehicles, also received significant interest locally. After viewing the PV5, Michael Schwarz commented, "I was impressed by how the spacious interior can be used in various ways."

German automakers, including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Group, and BMW, introduced a range of new vehicles on their 'home ground.'
At the Mercedes-Benz exhibition hall, the first all-electric SUV version of the global bestseller 'GLC,' named 'The All-New GLC with EQ Technology,' attracted considerable attention. In addition, the new 'CLA Shooting Brake' equipped with a hybrid powertrain and the concept car 'Concept AMG GT XX,' which presents the direction of Mercedes-AMG's high-performance electrification platform 'AMG.EA,' also drew large crowds.

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers such as BYD and Xpeng also set up large booths in Open Space to showcase models targeting the European market.
The Chinese electric vehicle brand Xpeng exhibited not only electric vehicles but also hybrid cars, flying cars, and humanoid robots. By highlighting the new electric sedan 'Next P7' and the flying car 'Aeroht,' the company demonstrated its technological prowess in the field of future mobility.
BYD displayed its second super hybrid model, the BYD 'Seal 6 DM-i Touring,' as well as the recently launched 'Sea Lion 7' in Korea. The company also exhibited the Denza 'Z9GT' and 'D9 MPV,' and conducted Europe's first demonstration of 1,000kW flash charging.
