Sports Promotion Council Convenes
to Discuss Next Year’s Sports Initiatives
On September 9, Sejong City held the 2025 Sports Promotion Council meeting to discuss ways to improve citizens' health and explore the development of the local sports sector.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Minho Choi, Assemblywoman Hyunjung Lee of Sejong City, and the city’s Sports Council. It was organized to discuss major sports-related policies and next year’s key sports business plans.
During the council session, participants shared progress on the ongoing “Establishment of the Master Plan for Public Sports Facilities” project and collected various opinions from sports experts to reflect in the master plan. The project focuses on setting appropriate supply standards for sports facilities and developing efficient operation and management strategies to enhance citizens’ quality of life.
Additionally, opinions were exchanged on strategies for next year’s key sports policies, including the promotion of elite sports, revitalization of community sports, support for athlete development and hosting or participating in various competitions, and expanding employment opportunities for athletes with disabilities.
