Namyangju City Holds 2nd Super Growth Committee Appointment Ceremony and Regular Meeting

Driving Super Growth through the Spirit of Jeong Yakyong
and the Dasan Jeong Yakyong Brand

On September 9, Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) held the "2nd Super Growth Committee Appointment Ceremony and Regular Meeting" at the Dasan Culture Center of the Jeong Yakyong Historic Site.

The Super Growth Committee is an advisory body directly under the mayor, established based on the "Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Namyangju City Super Growth Committee." It is composed of experts and local representatives from various fields who transcend generations, genders, regions, ideologies, and social classes, providing advice and suggestions on the city's major policies.

The 2nd committee consists of a total of 30 members, including the chairperson and committee members. Over the next two years, it will continue to serve as a citizen participation-based policy advisory body, offering advice on major municipal initiatives, making policy proposals, and discussing current issues.

This appointment ceremony was held in front of the portrait of Dasan Jeong Yakyong, a spiritual asset representing the city, which added special significance to the event.

In addition, participants reflected on the spirit and values of Jeong Yakyong and engaged in discussions with committee members on the "Dasan Jeong Yakyong Brand" policy, which is being actively promoted as a key pledge of the 8th popularly elected city administration.

During the meeting, the city shared its plans to establish Namyangju as the "City of Jeong Yakyong" and explored the future direction of the brand together.

Notably, the event featured the "Tea Culture and Tea Ceremony Experience of Dasan" program by human book mentor Koo Bonjeong. The "human book" initiative is a volunteer activity in which experts from various fields participate as mentors to share knowledge with citizens. Committee members experienced the tea culture embodying Dasan's life and philosophy, sharing in the identity of Namyangju.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "I hope that the 2nd Super Growth Committee will become a venue for communication that represents the voices of citizens and a forum for gathering wisdom for policy-making," adding, "We will work together with citizens to complete the vision for Namyangju."
