The area surrounding the Pyeongtaekho Tourism Complex construction site in Gyeonggi Province has been transformed into a giant canvas.

According to Pyeongtaek City on September 9, the city has created a "mural street" by utilizing the barriers installed at the Pyeongtaekho Tourism Complex construction site.

The mural street was established along an 820-meter section of Pyeongtaekho-gil near Korea Sound Culture Hall and a 500-meter section of Seodong-daero near the Memorial Tower. The Pyeongtaekho-gil section features murals themed on Pyeongtaek's sunset and the 12 zodiac animals, while the Seodong-daero section presents murals with a marine ecology theme.

In particular, the city explained that the mural street inspired by the 12 zodiac animals incorporates the universal theme of the "zodiac signs," offering stories that resonate across generations.

Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jangsun stated, "We created the mural street to add cultural and artistic value to the Pyeongtaekho Tourism Complex, which has experienced long delays," adding, "We will successfully lead this project to expand the region's tourism infrastructure."

The Pyeongtaekho Tourism Complex project aims to create an experiential multi-cultural tourism complex based on waterfront resources. Compensation procedures have recently been completed, and facility demolition work is underway. Once the site preparation is finished, the city plans to take the lead in developing flagship content facilities and attract private investment as well.
