"Aragaya, Blossoming the Flower of Culture" ... 21st Haman Arts Festival to Be Held

From September 19 to 24

A cultural and arts festival will be held in Haman, Gyeongnam, the ancient capital of Aragaya.


The 21st Haman Arts Festival will take place from September 19 to 24, spanning six days under the theme "Aragaya, Blossoming the Flower of Culture." The event will be held at the Haman Culture and Arts Center, Hamju Park, Haman Complex Literature Center, Aragil Outdoor Theater, and Ipggok County Park.


Hosted by the Haman branch of the Gyeongnam Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations and organized by associations in Korean traditional music, literature, fine arts, theater, entertainment, and music, along with local cultural and arts organizations, this festival will provide a platform for local artists from various fields to showcase their refined talents. It will serve as a venue for residents to enjoy and communicate together, fostering community unity.

The opening ceremony will be held on September 19. The Haman Literary Association will host the "Haman Arts Festival Commemorative Writing Contest" and the "Poetry and Painting Exhibition of My Heart," where students and the general public can demonstrate their literary sensibilities. At 6:30 p.m., the "44th Haman Fine Arts Association Members Exhibition" will officially kick off the festival, followed by the "Koo Changmo Concert" at 7:00 p.m. at the main theater of the Haman Culture and Arts Center, which is expected to heat up the festivities.


On September 20, the "Poetry Recitation Contest" will be held at the Haman Complex Literature Center from 10:00 a.m., the "National Korean Traditional Music Competition" at the Aragil Outdoor Theater, and the "Moving Gallery Exhibition" at Ipggok County Park, each taking place at their respective venues.


At 3:00 p.m., the regular concert of the Haman Korean Traditional Music Association will be held at the Aragil Outdoor Theater, and at 5:00 p.m., the 13th Aragaya Choir Festival will take place at the main theater of the Haman Culture and Arts Center.


On September 21 at 5:00 p.m., "Rhapsody of an Autumn Night" will be held at the main theater of the Haman Culture and Arts Center, and at 6:30 p.m., the "Haman Arts Festival Song Festival" will be held at the Hamju Park Outdoor Theater.


On September 23 at 7:30 p.m., the play "My Malgeumssi" will be performed at the main theater of the Haman Culture and Arts Center, and on September 24 at 7:00 p.m., the high-class comic classical concert "Yammo Yammo Concert" will be held at the main theater of the Haman Culture and Arts Center.


Lee Kangseop, head of the Haman branch of the Gyeongnam Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations, stated, "I hope this festival, where Haman's talented cultural and artistic figures showcase their refined skills, will serve as an opportunity for the further development of Haman's culture and arts. I also hope that residents, weary from the long heat, will enjoy the event together and find it helpful for their physical and mental recovery."


Cho Geunje, Mayor of Haman County, said, "I hope that this arts festival will bring a breeze of culture and arts to the hearts of residents exhausted by the hot summer days, restoring vitality and energy. I also hope this festival will serve as an opportunity to further enhance and advance the development of culture and arts in Haman County and the capabilities of its artists."
