The Keyring of Hope was planned and released as part of the "Wildfire Damaged Wood Utilization Policy" promoted by the Korea Forest Service. It aims to build public consensus for restoring wildfire-affected areas to healthy forests as they were before the fires.
Starting from September 9, the Keyring of Hope will be sold for 6,900 won each at the garden shops of the Baekdudaegan National Arboretum, the Sejong National Arboretum, and the Korea National Arboretum for Endemic Plants. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to funds for restoring wildfire-affected areas and for activities to prevent forest disasters.
Shim Sangtaek, Chairman of the Arboretum Office, stated, "The Keyring of Hope is being released to embody the values of resource recycling by public institutions, mutual growth with the local economy, and raising awareness of wildfire damage." He added, "The Arboretum Office will continue to develop and implement various projects to restore forests in areas affected by wildfires."
