Applications Accepted Until September 11
Imsil County, North Jeolla Province, announced on September 9 that it will once again provide free rabies vaccinations this year to ensure the safety of residents and their companion animals.
Rabies is a viral disease that can be fatal to both humans and animals. It is especially important to prevent the disease, as there is a risk of infection from livestock and wild animals, including companion dogs.
This free vaccination program is available for companion dogs owned by residents registered in Imsil County. Residents who wish to participate must apply by September 11.
Applications can be submitted in person at the industrial team of the township or town office in the relevant jurisdiction. Vaccinations will be administered at designated dates and locations specified by the county. The county will provide individual notifications to eligible participants and will thoroughly conduct post-vaccination monitoring to check for any adverse reactions. In particular, the county urged extra caution in managing companion dogs, as the Chuseok holiday period is expected to bring an increase in visitors returning to their hometowns.
County Governor Sim Min stated, "Rabies is fatal once contracted, so vaccination is the safest and most effective means of prevention. I urge all residents to protect the health of their companion animals and the safety of the community by applying for the free vaccination program."
