It has been revealed that Cho Kuk, head of the Innovation Policy Committee of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, did not reply after receiving more than ten handwritten letters from the victim of sexual harassment within the party while the perpetrator was incarcerated.
Kang Misook, attorney and advisor to the Women's Committee of the Innovation Party, stated on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on September 8, "I sent a heartfelt letter that was over ten pages long, but there was no response. I felt disappointed, as it seemed that my sincerity was not conveyed."
According to Attorney Kang, the letter included details about the background of the incident, areas where the party could improve, measures for recovery after disciplinary action, and issues related to returning to work. She added, "I hoped that discussions would definitely take place after the pardon, but since there was still no reply, I sent a direct text message on August 21."
Cho Kuk belatedly expressed his regret, saying he would meet the victim in person to offer comfort after completing his local schedule. However, the meeting never actually took place.
Attorney Kang pointed out, "The core issue is the process for Kang Mijeong, the spokesperson, to return to work, but no one has addressed this. Although Cho Kuk posted an apology on social media, there was ultimately no direct contact with the victim."
