A Festival of Youth and Passion: Five Local Universities Join
A Vibrant Lineup of Sports, Performances, and Parades
Anticipation Builds for Guest Performances by Chungha, The Quiett, and H1-KEY
Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan) is presenting a campus festival infused with youth and passion.
On September 8, Chuncheon City (Mayor Yuk Donghan) announced that it will host the Chuncheon City University Joint Festival on September 9 in the Songgok University area.
Now in its third year, this festival brings together five local universities-Kangwon National University, Songgok University, Chuncheon National University of Education, Hallym University, and Hallym Polytechnic College. The event serves as a platform for communication and mutual growth, aiming to realize the vision of Chuncheon as a “university city” through inter-university exchange and unity.
The festival is organized by the University Joint Festival Promotion Committee, made up of students from the five participating universities. The program features a parade with university teams and staff, university club performances, and athletic competitions.
On the day of the event, the finals of various athletic competitions between universities will take place. The soccer final will be held at the Hallym University main field, basketball at the Hallym Polytechnic College gymnasium, and dodgeball and badminton finals at the Songgok University Arc Gym.
At the Songgok University main field, students will operate 17 booths offering photo zones, career counseling, games, tarot readings, and more. There will also be horseback riding and feeding experiences at the Equestrian Education Center.
On the same day, starting at 5:30 p.m., a parade will proceed from the main gate of Songgok University to the main field, featuring university flags, cheer squads, and an equestrian performance to energize the atmosphere. After a ceremonial event at 6:00 p.m., stage performances will officially begin at 7:00 p.m. The program will open with a joint band performance by the mayor and university presidents, followed by dance, rap, and band performances by student clubs from Chuncheon National University of Education and Hallym University. From 8:30 p.m., invited artists including Chungha, The Quiett, and H1-KEY will take the stage, bringing the festival to its peak.
The city expects the University Joint Festival to play a significant role in realizing the “regional coexistence campus,” where the community and universities grow together, beyond simply being an event.
A Chuncheon City official stated, “We hope this festival, created together by universities and citizens, will be a stage of challenge and passion for the youth who will lead Chuncheon’s future, and an opportunity for citizens to experience the vitality of youth. We also expect this to further promote Chuncheon’s appeal as a university city and invigorate the local community.”
