Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on September 8 that the Hampyeong Regional Self-Support Center has been selected as an outstanding institution in the "2023-2024 Regional Self-Support Center Performance Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This evaluation comprehensively analyzed the operational performance of 228 regional self-support centers nationwide over the past two years (2023-2024), classifying them as urban, urban-rural complex, or rural types.
The center was recognized as an outstanding institution after receiving consistently high marks in key indicators such as participant success rate, education completion rate, certification acquisition rate, and business unit sales.
This achievement is attributed to the county's proactive administrative support and cooperation. Center Director Oh Cheolsoo stated, "Being selected as an outstanding institution was made possible by the dedicated efforts of our self-support staff and the county's active support. We will continue to do our best to ensure the center grows together with the local community."
Meanwhile, the Hampyeong Regional Self-Support Center is a social welfare facility that helps low-income individuals achieve self-reliance and escape poverty by providing work opportunities and technical training. The center operates a variety of customized jobs and programs to enable low-income individuals with work capability to achieve self-support independently.
