Chef Kwon Sungjun, who gained widespread attention as the "Napoli Matpia," will take the stage at the opening ceremony of the "2025 Wonju Ramyeon Festa," which begins on September 19.
Chef Kwon Sungjun is the grand winner of the globally acclaimed cooking competition program "Black and White Chef," where he left a strong impression with his nickname "Napoli Matpia." At this event, he plans to present a special dish that reinterprets ramyeon with a fine dining sensibility.
Wonju City has prepared a special cooking show by Chef Kwon Sungjun as a main event for the opening ceremony of the 2025 Wonju Ramyeon Festa, which will be held from September 19 to 21 for three days at the outdoor theater area of Sangji University in Usan-dong.
This cooking show is designed as a live stage where the chef and citizens can interact, going beyond a simple demonstration. Some audience members on site will also have the opportunity to taste the dishes on the spot. The first day of the Wonju Ramyeon Festa, combining the opening ceremony and the cooking show that marks the start of the festival, is expected to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience.
The opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on September 19, followed by the cooking show after the opening performance. The city has organized the opening ceremony as the highlight of this ramyeon festival and plans to operate various pre-event programs and booths so that citizens and tourists can visit and enjoy the festivities in advance.
Won Kangsoo, Mayor of Wonju, stated, "Chef Kwon Sungjun's cooking show at the opening ceremony of the Wonju Ramyeon Festa will offer a special moment where the popularity of ramyeon meets the creativity of fine dining," adding, "We ask for the great interest and participation of all citizens and tourists."
