The Daegu Police Agency's baseball team, "Riot Police," achieved remarkable success on the national stage. From August 30 to September 2, they claimed the championship title at the 22nd Jeju Mayor's National Public Officials Baseball Tournament held in Jeju.
This tournament featured fierce competition among baseball teams representing 34 public agencies from 12 cities and provinces nationwide. The Daegu Police Agency defeated Gangjin County Office in the preliminaries, then went on to beat Yesan County Office in the quarterfinals and Jinan County Office in the semifinals.
In the final, they overcame the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency, which was considered a strong favorite to win, and proudly lifted the championship trophy.
Coach Byun Sangryong stated, "Riot Police is a team formed by police officers who prioritize citizen safety and come together in their free time outside of work," adding, "We will continue to do our best not only in the field of public safety but also in hobbies and leisure activities, to repay the trust of Daegu citizens."
This achievement goes beyond simply winning a sports tournament; it is seen as an example of how the concentration and teamwork honed by police officers in the field of public safety can also shine in the world of sports.
