At approximately 10:35 a.m. on September 5, a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, attacked a female caddie, Ms. B, with a weapon at a golf course in Geoje-myeon, Geoje City, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to Geoje Police Station and other sources, a report was received at around 10:39 a.m. that "an assailant stabbed someone with a weapon."
Ms. B, who suffered severe injuries to her neck and chest from the stabbing, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but died during treatment.
Mr. A inflicted a serious abdominal injury on himself immediately after the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
The two had reportedly been in a de facto marriage for several years before recently separating.
It has been reported that Mr. A disguised himself as a golf course maintenance worker to enter the premises and commit the crime.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident by questioning eyewitnesses and plan to question Mr. A as soon as his condition improves.
