Discount Rate for Jangsu Love Gift Certificate Raised to 15%
Local Economy Expected to Gain Momentum Until December
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province will significantly increase the discount rate of the Jangsu Love Gift Certificate from the current 10% to 15% until December.
According to the county on September 5, this discount has been introduced to reduce the economic burden felt by residents and to stimulate local consumption, thereby revitalizing the stagnant local economy. With the implementation scheduled ahead of the Chuseok holiday, it is expected to provide substantial benefits to county residents.
The 15% discount will apply equally to both paper and card types of the gift certificate, while the purchase limit will remain unchanged at 500,000 won per month.
Additionally, to enhance convenience for residents, the range of locations where the gift certificate can be used will be expanded. Newly designated locations include some Nonghyup agricultural supply stores in township areas and Nonghyup Hanaro Mart branches in townships other than Jangsu-eup, making it easier for residents to use the gift certificate for daily necessities and groceries, thus increasing its utility in everyday consumption.
Currently, the Jangsu Love Gift Certificate can be conveniently used like cash at over 1,100 affiliated businesses in the region, including restaurants, traditional markets, gas stations, hair salons, hospitals and clinics, and supermarkets. A more detailed list of participating merchants is available on the county office website.
Choi Hunsik, the county governor, stated, "The Jangsu Love Gift Certificate is a robust livelihood policy that directly benefits household finances and supports the sales of small businesses. I hope that this increase in the discount rate will serve as a new catalyst for revitalizing the Jangsu County economy, and we will continue to promote policies that residents and small business owners can truly feel."
Meanwhile, the Jangsu Love Gift Certificate can be easily purchased anytime and anywhere through the mobile app (Local Gift Certificate Chak), as well as at 19 local financial institutions, including Nonghyup, Livestock Cooperatives, Credit Unions, Saemaeul Geumgo, and post offices.
