Seongsan District Conducts Inspections of Children's Favorite Food Preparation and Sales Establishments in Preparation for Autumn School Opening.
This inspection is being carried out in preparation for the autumn school opening, targeting 101 locations such as snack bars and stationery stores frequently visited by children within designated food safety zones, together with dedicated inspectors for children's favorite foods.
The main inspection items include proper management of storage and hygiene conditions for prepared foods, use of products past their expiration dates, health checkups for food handlers, and personal hygiene management. The inspection will cover all basic safety rules, and on-site guidance will be provided for any deficiencies found.
In addition, to protect children's health, the district has designated areas within 200 meters of school boundaries as "Children's Food Safety Protection Zones" and is installing and managing 87 guide signs in these areas.
Along with the inspections, a full survey of the guide signs will be conducted, and any signs that require replacement due to damage, loss, or discoloration will be replaced accordingly.
Kim Sooyoon, Head of the Culture and Sanitation Division, stated, "We will create a safe food environment for children by conducting inspections and replacing guide signs within the food safety zones." She also encouraged families to pay attention to children's eating habits by choosing products with children's favorite food quality certification, so that children can grow up healthy at home as well.
