Meet-the-Author Events and Hands-On Programs
at Jeongjo Hyo Park and Taean Library
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the "2nd Hwaseong City Library Festival" over two days, September 13 and 14, in celebration of Reading Month.
This year’s festival, held under the theme "A Library Festival Journeying with Wisdom," will take place at Jeongjo Hyo Park and around the Hwaseong City Taean Library.
At Jeongjo Hyo Park on September 13, the program will feature a book concert by author Eun Heekyung, a solo puppet show and lecture by author Yoo Jin, a comprehensive history lecture, and a bubble show. Side events will include a stamp tour, a photo zone with book-shaped sculptures, an outdoor reading zone equipped with bean bags, mobile bookshelves, and sunshades, as well as food trucks.
At the festival venue, 26 promotional and experience booths will be set up by the city library, local schools, and community culture centers. Visitors can experience library promotions, Jeongjo-themed activities, book pouch projects, workshop experiences, and programs in collaboration with local bookstores.
At Taean Library on September 14, there will be a meet-and-greet with author Son Wonpyung, a science experience show for children, a family puppet show by Dalbit Theater Company, and a magic performance. In the children's reading room, citizen supporters will read picture books and English books to children, while on the shared stairs, the "Human Library" program will allow for open conversations with experts. Programs held inside the library require advance reservations through the Hwaseong City integrated reservation system.
