Daejeon City is organizing a forum to focus on the changes in the global trade environment, trends in U.S. tariff policies, and response strategies for Daejeon-based export companies.

The city will hold the "Daejeon Export Companies Trade Environment Response Strategy Briefing" at Lotte City Hotel on the morning of September 12 at 10 a.m.

This briefing, co-hosted with the Daejeon Sejong Chungnam Regional Office of KOTRA and the Daejeon Job & Economy Promotion Agency, will focus on in-depth discussions of global trade environment changes, U.S. tariff policy trends, and response strategies for Daejeon export companies.

In addition, successful export cases from key local industries will be shared to help companies effectively respond to the rapidly changing international trade environment.

At the briefing, experts will present on ▲ changes and implications in the global trade environment, ▲ recent trends in U.S. tariff measures and related consultation cases, and ▲ the current status of Daejeon export companies' responses to the trade environment. Following this, Weflow, a defense industry company specializing in drones, and Sungkyung Food, a food consumer goods company, will introduce their success stories and provide practical strategies.

Participating companies will not only gain access to the latest tariff information but also receive on-site market entry consultations from the heads of Daejeon's overseas offices. In-depth one-on-one consultations with external customs corporations will also be available.

Currently, Daejeon City operates overseas offices in four countries: the United States, China, Japan, and Vietnam. In the first half of this year alone, these offices achieved 516 consultations, a total consultation amount of 30 million dollars, and contract negotiations amounting to 10 million dollars.

Han Chiheum, Director General for Planning and Coordination at Daejeon City, stated, "We will expand tailored support to strengthen export competitiveness in strategic industries such as semiconductors, bio, and aerospace," adding, "We hope this briefing will serve as an opportunity for companies to seek new opportunities amid the changing trade environment."
