Live Commerce Event to Expand Sales Channels and Boost the Local Economy for Small Businesses
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced that from September 5 to September 28, it will host a total of 12 live commerce broadcasts featuring local small business owners at "Sodam Square Gangwon," a digital commerce specialist institution for small businesses.
This event will be held in conjunction with major local festivals and events, including Gangwon Local Week, Gangneung Wolhwa Market, and the Wonju Small and Medium Enterprise Excellent Products Expo. The aim is to introduce competitive products from local companies while directly engaging with consumers on-site.
A total of 24 local companies will participate, showcasing more than 40 products such as agricultural and livestock products, processed foods, health foods, traditional liquor, and household goods.
Key products include Jeongseon medicinal bellflower tea and concentrate, Sokcho salted seafood and dried pollack jerky, wild vegetable potato rice cakes, Gangneung Chodang coffee bread, iron pot mineral scorched rice, processed foods made from Gangwon Province's specialty potatoes, traditional liquor and cheese, and cosmetics.
Through the Sodam Square Gangwon website (sodam.gwdo.kr), small business products featured in this live commerce event will also be available at discounted prices.
This live commerce event is expected to expand online sales channels and create synergistic effects by connecting with attendees of local festivals, thanks to broadcasts that emphasize real-time interaction and on-site atmosphere.
Jung Ho-cheol, Director of Economic Policy at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "By giving local small business owners the opportunity to meet consumers directly through live commerce linked to regional festivals, this will greatly help expand sales channels and enhance brand recognition. We will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of small businesses through various online and offline marketing support."
