Krogdalo, Edania, and Blue Battlefield Updates
"New Challenges and Fun Await... Positive Response from Players"
Pearl Abyss is continuously introducing new content in Black Desert, expanding the gaming experience for adventurers. The updates, which include the new mythical horse "Krogdalo" and the new region "Edania," as well as the maritime player-versus-player (PVP) content "Blue Battlefield," provide a wide variety of activities both on land and at sea.
According to Pearl Abyss on September 4, Krogdalo is an evolved version of the existing mythical horse system, combining the abilities of all three Dream Horses (Dine, Arduanatt, and Doom) within the Black Desert world. When flying is needed, it transforms into Arduanatt; for water and desert, it becomes Dine; and for fast movement on land, it takes the form of Doom. With overwhelming speed, stamina, and various support skills, Krogdalo not only enhances land combat but also greatly improves movement efficiency.
Edania, which was updated on August 20, is a demonic region located north of Valencia, offering new and challenging elements different from previous regions. It features castles and hunting grounds, each with its own unique boss. By defeating these bosses, players can obtain "Edana's Fragment" to craft the more powerful "Edana's Armor."
The Edania update will be released in two parts. The core of Part 1, which was unveiled this time, is the new PVP content "Edana Throne," where a ruler named "Edana" is selected. Part 2 is scheduled for update on September 10.
In Edana Throne, adventurers must prove their strength through endless duels at each boss's castle. The adventurer who claims the throne must defend against challengers every week, and if defeated, must relinquish their position. The adventurer chosen as Edana enjoys various privileges, including "Edana's Crown" (a helmet item), collecting accumulated taxes from the region, instant resurrection in the Edana area without death penalties, instant movement to their own castle, and the activation of Edana's Blessing buff.
In Edania, players can discover various new items and life content. By defeating monsters in the hunting grounds, adventurers can obtain new relics, crystals, and lightstones. Additionally, new elixirs, draughts, and perfumes that grant extra attack power against Edania tribes can be acquired through alchemy.
Blue Battlefield is a new content feature centered on large-scale naval battles. It is a system where adventurers can earn various rewards through strategic combat and cooperative play at sea. Pearl Abyss expects that by offering an environment and combat style different from traditional land battles, Blue Battlefield will provide new challenges and excitement. The update is scheduled for later this month.
A representative from Pearl Abyss stated, "This content expansion has been receiving positive feedback not only from existing adventurers but also from returning and new users." They added, "Within the Black Desert community, players are saying things like, 'It's been a while since there was so much content, so I came back,' and 'Racing across the Black Desert world on Krogdalo is the best,' reflecting the enthusiastic response."
