Damyang County (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) and Chosun University (President Kim Choonseong) signed a "Joint Memorandum of Understanding for Dementia Prevention and Overcoming Population Decline" on the 4th at Chosun University.

This agreement was established to jointly address challenges faced by the local community, including early diagnosis and prevention of dementia, integration of medical and welfare services, and the development of policies to respond to population decline.

Under the agreement, the two institutions plan to collaborate on the following: public interest projects and pilot services for early diagnosis and prevention of dementia; operation and integration of medical and welfare projects based in Damyang County; identification and attraction of government elderly welfare and financial support projects; and the development of programs and research to address population decline.

With this agreement, the county aims to strengthen early screening, registration management, family support, and dementia management programs centered on the Dementia Relief Center, while also implementing population policies such as support for youth and family settlement, to create a healthy and vibrant local community.

Kim Choonseong, President of Chosun University, stated, "This is a meaningful occasion to return the university's human and academic resources to the local community," and added, "We will actively cooperate to address the challenges of dementia prevention and population issues."

Governor Jeong Cheolwon said, "This agreement will serve as an important starting point for responding to aging and changes in population structure," and emphasized, "We will work together with Chosun University to create a vibrant and healthy Damyang."
