Glocal University Consortium: Dongseo University and Dong-A University Hospital Join Forces to Invigorate "Human Care"

Universities and hospitals are joining forces to invigorate the field of "human care."

Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) announced on September 3 that it has signed a business agreement with Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) and Dong-A University Hospital (Hospital Director Ahn Heebae) to promote exchanges in the human care sector as part of the Glocal University Consortium.

The signing ceremony was held on the same day in the Global Room on the 11th floor of the New Millennium Hall at Dongseo University, attended by President Jang Jeguk, President Lee Haewoo, and Hospital Director Ahn Heebae.

This agreement was established to strengthen specialized exchanges in the human care field between the two universities and to expand educational and research collaboration linked to the local community.

The institutions will operate field training programs centered on health and medical departments such as nursing, clinical pathology, and radiology. They also plan to promote various collaborative projects, including convergence research in medical and health-related fields, joint development of educational content, and academic exchanges.

Currently, the two universities have designated four specialized areas in collaboration with local industries: ▲Energy Tech (power semiconductors, hydrogen) ▲Human Care (biohealth) ▲Cultural Content (advanced content, convergence design) ▲Busan Heritage. Through university-industry cooperation, they aim to advance industries and secure new growth engines.

Jang Jeguk, President of Dongseo University, emphasized, "This agreement lays an important foundation for the mutual development of both institutions and their contributions to the local community as the only private consortium university in the country," adding, "Through close cooperation, we will nurture globally competitive talent and contribute to regional innovation."

Dongseo University and Dong-A University were selected for the Ministry of Education's Glocal University 30 project in 2024 and are currently building the nation’s only private consortium university model.
