According to the city on September 3, this support project is one of Mayor Woo Beomgi’s pledges for the 8th popularly elected administration. The program provides 100,000 won in transportation expenses to alleviate the financial burden on job-seeking youth and to help improve employment rates.

Applicants must also meet the income requirement of 100% or less of the standard median income (based on health insurance premium income assessment criteria).

If the number of applicants exceeds 200, recipients will be selected through a document review, prioritizing in the following order: length of unemployment (longest first), age (oldest first), and duration of residence in Jeonju (longest first).

Youth selected as recipients will receive a transportation card loaded with 100,000 won, which can be freely used for public transportation expenses such as city buses, intercity buses, and taxis.

Youth interested in participating can apply online through the integrated application support site on the Jeonju City website. For further details, applicants can refer to the official announcement posted on the city website or check the “Cheongjeongjidae” online platform for Jeonju youth.

The city plans to review applicants’ eligibility and will select recipients on September 22, after which the transportation cards will be distributed.

Kim Eunju, Director of the Population and Youth Policy Bureau of Jeonju City, said, “We hope this project will help ease the transportation cost burden for youth preparing for interviews and employment. We will continue to do our best to create an environment where unemployed youth facing economic difficulties can focus on their job search through various support policies for local youth.”

Meanwhile, the city is implementing a variety of support programs for unemployed youth, including not only transportation expense support, but also interview suit rentals, language test fee support, and youth vitality allowances.
