Undercover Inspections to Be Conducted
Strict Administrative Measures and Criminal Complaints for Violations
Wonju City in Gangwon Province announced on September 3 that it will conduct a special inspection and crackdown on illegal brokerage activities related to the resale of apartment purchase rights during the contract period for "Wonju Station Umi Lynn The Stella," which will take place from September 8 to 11.
This crackdown aims to eradicate illegal "tteottabang" operations, brokerage activities by unregistered or unqualified individuals, and illegal brokerage activities conducted outside of authorized offices, all of which may occur during the transaction of purchase rights.
Wonju City will deploy regulatory officials and special judicial police officers to intensively monitor areas around the sales office, online advertisements, and on-site activities. In particular, the city plans to enhance effectiveness by also conducting undercover inspections.
Additionally, in accordance with relevant laws, the city will respond strictly to illegal activities through strong administrative measures and criminal complaints.
Park Insu, head of the Land Management Division, stated, "Some illegal brokerage activities have occurred during the transaction of purchase rights, raising concerns about consumer harm," and added, "We will continue rigorous crackdowns to establish a transparent and sound real estate transaction order."
