Man in His 30s Arrested for Threatening to "Bomb Shinsegae Duty Free" on Social Media

A man who posted a threat on social media stating, "I will bomb Shinsegae Duty Free," has been apprehended by the police.

On September 2, the Namdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced that a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, was urgently arrested on charges of public intimidation.

Mr. A is accused of posting a comment on Instagram at around 3:22 p.m. that day, threatening to "bomb the main building of Shinsegae Duty Free in Hoehyeon-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul."

Upon receiving a report from Shinsegae regarding this comment, the police were dispatched to the Myeongdong Shinsegae Duty Free store as well as the Shinsegae Duty Free locations within the restricted areas of Incheon Airport's Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. However, no explosion occurred.

The police stated, "We plan to conduct a thorough investigation into the specific details of the crime and continue related inquiries with the suspect."
