New CSAT Requirements for Medical and Pharmaceutical Fields
Relaxed Criteria for Opportunity Balance Selection II
Inclusion of School Violence Records in Evaluation
Kyung Hee University will select 2,965 students through the early admission process for the 2026 academic year.
By admission type, 615 students will be selected through the School Record-Based Selection, 1,546 through the Comprehensive School Record Selection, 474 through the Essay Excellence Selection, and 330 through the Practical Excellence Selection.
The main changes to Kyung Hee University's early admission process for the 2026 academic year are as follows: changes in eligibility for the Regional Balance Selection; implementation of the minimum CSAT score requirement for medical and pharmaceutical fields in the Neo-Renaissance Selection; relaxation of eligibility for the Opportunity Balance Selection II from families with four or more children to families with three or more children; and inclusion of school violence records from the School Life Record in the evaluation.
Within the School Record-Based Selection, the Regional Balance Selection is for students who have grades for at least three semesters and have been recommended by their principal, and a total of 615 students will be selected. Previously, this selection was limited to students expected to graduate from domestic high schools, but eligibility has been expanded to include students graduating between February 2024 and those expected to graduate by February 2026. The restriction on the number of recommended students has also been removed. Selection is based on a combined score: 30% from the comprehensive evaluation of academic records and 70% from both academic and non-academic (attendance and volunteer work) records in the School Life Record, with students required to meet the minimum CSAT score. For the School Record-Based Selection under the Major-Free Track, 49 students will be selected for the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies and 158 for the Division of Liberal Studies.
The total number of students to be selected through the Comprehensive School Record Selection is 1,546. By selection type, 1,068 will be chosen through the Neo-Renaissance Selection, 388 through Opportunity Balance Selection I, and 90 through Opportunity Balance Selection II.
The Essay Excellence Selection will admit a total of 474 students, a slight decrease from the previous year. The minimum CSAT score requirement is as follows: for Humanities, Sciences, and the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies, the sum of grades in two subject areas must be within 5; for the medical and pharmaceutical fields, the sum of grades in three subject areas must be within 4. For the Sports field, students must have a grade of 3 or higher in at least one subject area. For Korean History, students in the Humanities, Sciences, Interdisciplinary, and Medical/Pharmaceutical fields must have a grade of 5 or higher.
To address information imbalances among students, Kyung Hee University publishes detailed information on the Admissions Office website each year, including the distribution of school record grades for applicants and admitted students by admission type and department, as well as document review, interview, and essay scores for admitted students. This information can be found under "Check Admission Results" on the Admissions Office website.
